About Me
Hi! I'm Marlee!
I’m a writer, scientist, bird watcher, cat lady, mom, and wife (not always in that order).
I was born and raised in Potsdam, a small town in northern New York. I spent most of my childhood playing in the woods and desperately wishing I could talk to animals. Since then I've moved around a lot (I’ve lived in 8 different states!), but walking in the woods is still my favorite thing to do. My love of wildlife inspired my career in science and I've had many exciting jobs including science teacher, ornithologist (bird biologist), climate resilience educator and park ranger. I currently live in Connecticut with my wife, daughter, three cats, two dogs, and one fish.
I write fun and fantastical picture books with characters who are strong, resilient, and endlessly creative, and I am currently seeking representation.
